About Me

A picture of me wearing a hat and showing off my luscious beard.

Hi, my name is Nick Vahalik.

For over a decade, I've been helping businesses modernize their systems, harness newer and better technologies, and find solutions that help them to save money, solve problems, and serve their customers better.

I've been a Drupal user and developer for over 10 years and have been active in the community for more than half that time. You can find more specific Drupal-related information on my Drupal.org user profile page. My experience with Drupal is centered primarily on Intranet uses and online commerce (via Drupal Commerce), though I'm pretty effective at building just about anything.

In many ways, I'm probably not like most developers you've met. While I tend to identify myself as developer, a better word for is probably technologist. I've been writing code for a long time. Then in school I focused on networking and security. After school, I spent some time working in marketing and building websites for a variety of different businesses (large and small). That is to say, I've "been there, done that" for many different situations and projects—and as much as I can I try to apply that experience and knowledge to my clients and customers.

If you're evaluating me for a project, you may be interested in any of the following:

My hobbies include reading (primarily history or fantasy), electronics, amateur radio, and just building stuff in general. My family have been active members of Miller Heights Baptist Church since 2014.
